The Lotus Exige S1 is a compact, lightweight sports car introduced in 2000. Based on the Lotus Elise, the Exige S1 was designed to be a more focused and track-oriented version of the Elise, with improved aerodynamics, suspension, and performance.
One of the key features that sets the Exige S1 apart from the Elise is its aerodynamic package. The Exige S1 features a larger rear wing, a front splitter, and side skirts, all of which help to improve downforce and stability at high speeds. The Exige S1 features a stiffer suspension setup than the Elise, allowing it to corner even harder and more precisely. Weighing in at a mere 780kg, the Lotus Exige S1 can take on much more exotic machinery at much more exotic prices at most race circuits!
Inside, the Exige S1 is focused on the driving experience. As a result, the interior is spartan and minimalistic, with lightweight bucket seats, Schroth 4-point race harnesses and a simple Stack dashboard layout. However, the Exige S1 does feature some creature comforts, such as air conditioning and a stereo, making it a more liveable car for daily driving than some of its more hardcore competitors.
This one-and-only Exige S1 in town is presented in striking Chrome Orange. It is fitted with a factory-supplied VHPD (Very High-Performance Derivative) engine that increases power from 177hp to 190hp at 7,800rpm, making the car even more exciting to drive and ever ready to take to the tracks!
But beyond its on-track performance, what sets the Exige S1 apart is the overall driving experience. The Exige S1 is lightweight, nimble, and ultra-responsive, making it a true driver’s car, prioritising a visceral driving experience over all else!
