Lamborghini announced the release of the Gallardo LP 570-4 Superleggera in 2010, a lightweight and more powerful version of the Gallardo LP 560–4 in the same vein as the previous Superleggera. Derived from the Italian words for “super light,” the Superleggera lives up to its name by employing advanced lightweight materials and technologies.
With carbon fibre used extensively inside and out, together with the use of lightweight Alcantara in the cabin and polycarbonate in place of glass where feasible, weight was reduced by 70kg to just 1,340 kg, making it the lightest road-going Lamborghini in the range.
Under the hood lies the same monstrous V10 engine, tuned to deliver a spine-tingling 562 horsepower to all four wheels through Lamborghini’s advanced all-wheel-drive system. This weight reduction, combined with more power and an aerodynamically optimised design, translates into astonishing acceleration, razor-sharp handling, and exceptional agility.
This head-turning example is presented in Lamborghini’s special 3-layer Giallo Midas paint. It features additional aerodynamic add-ons such as a rear bumper and valance from Lamborghini’s motorsports arm, Squadra Corse and an even more aggressive aftermarket front splitter, side skirts and rear spoiler.
