Enquiry About The Mercedes-Benz 240GD

Few vehicles within the Mercedes-Benz G-Class lineage carry the rarity of a factory-built passenger cabriolet. While the G-Wagen is perhaps best known for its long association with military service, it was also produced in a far scarcer civilian form. Fewer than 100 civilian right-hand-drive 240GD Cabriolets are believed to have been built worldwide.

Finished in striking Yellow with contrasting black accents, this particular 240GD is a genuine factory passenger, non-military right-hand-drive Cabriolet, and is believed to be the only example of its kind currently in Singapore. It is complete with factory-fitted forward-facing rear seats, further distinguishing it from the more commonly encountered military-specification 240GDs.

Imported from South Africa, this 240GD has not undergone a restoration or rebuild. Instead, it has been diligently maintained over the years, with wear-and-tear items replaced as required to preserve its mechanical condition and usability.

Mechanically sound and in very good running condition, this 240GD has clearly benefited from diligent upkeep, with wear-and-tear items attended to as required. For a vehicle of its age and rarity, its strong mechanical condition makes this an especially compelling example for the G-Wagen enthusiast or collector.
